Krall Claims First Win as LCSC Men Shine at Home Tournament

CLARKSTON, WA – The men of LC State Golf dominated play to wrap up The Warrior Spring Classic at Red Wolf Golf Club on Tuesday. Both Warrior teams shot under par for the tournament to finish as the top two teams. Senior Kye Krall turned in the best performance of his career to earn his first collegiate victory as one of six Warriors in the top 10. The day marked the fourth straight day of competition for LC State Golf.

The LC State A and B teams combined to shoot 24-under for the tournament. The A team of Sondre Andresen, Luke West, Andrea Artusini, Lucas Ortega and Adam Lovatt shot rounds of 283-278-283 for a 20-under, 844. The B team, led by Krall, also featured Aaron Brown, Jaxon Moon and Hunter Millsap and shot 289-283-288 for a 4-under, 860.

“Some amazing golf played top to bottom by the men,” coach Zach Anderson said. “Exciting to see a bunch of red numbers at a course like Red Wolf. Really proud of Kye for getting his first collegiate win. From start to finish he played very disciplined golf; he stayed present throughout and came out on top in his final regular-season home tournament as a Warrior. Impressive scores all over the board which is exactly what we needed as we inch closer to postseason.”

After the awards presentation, LC State honored its five seniors including three from the men’s team: Krall, Moon and Andresen. Myah Parson and Dallis Shockey were honored on the women’s side.

“It was a joy to honor five seniors today,” Anderson added. “Jaxon, Kye and Sondre have all played integral parts in the growth of this program. Myah and Dallis’ work ethic and growth have been a huge reason our program has evolved to where it’s at. Thank you to all five for their leadership and dedication to LC State Golf.”

Krall put together one of the best tournaments by a Warrior this season with a 10-under total of 206 with rounds of 69-66-71. He won the individual title by two strokes with three Warriors right behind him.

Artusini led the A team in second place after a round of 66 to finish his week. He carded eight birdies, nearly half of his final 18 holes, to finish 8-under (72-70-66). Junior Luke West was one stroke back in third place with rounds of 67-70-72.

Freshman Adam Lovatt rounded out the all-tournament top five for the Warriors with an even-par round. He placed fourth overall at 6-under (72-66-72). Andresen finished in 11th place at 1-over with a 73 in his final 18 holes (72-72-73), and Ortega capped the A team’s tournament in a tie for 24th at 9-over (78-74-73).
