WASHINGTON, D.C. — CS Beef Packers, LLC, a Kuna, Idaho-based company, has recalled approximately 22,912 pounds of raw ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O145, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The products were produced Jan. 14, 2026, and shipped to distributors in Idaho, Oregon and California for further distribution to food service locations.
The issue was identified through federal testing at a downstream facility, which detected the presence of the bacteria. No confirmed illnesses have been reported as of the recall notice.
Officials warn that some of the recalled products may still be in freezers at food service locations and should not be served. The items should be discarded or returned.
E. coli O145 can cause symptoms including diarrhea, vomiting and, in rare cases, more serious complications, particularly in young children, older adults and those with weakened immune systems.
Consumers are advised to cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160 degrees to kill harmful bacteria.
