Driver extricated after RV slides off embankment in north Whitman County

Pullman Radio NewsST. JOHN, WA – Multiple North Whitman County Volunteer fire departments conducted a technical rescue from an RV that slid off a rural road.

Whitman County Fire District 2 Volunteers out of St. John were called to the scene on Lancaster Road Thursday morning around 7:00. The RV partially slid off the road on top of a steep embankment South of St. John. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was pinned behind the wheel by the contents inside the RV. The RV slid further when volunteers were talking with the driver.

District 7 Volunteers out of Rosalia and a member of the City of Colfax Fire Department’s technical rescue team were called in to assist. Crews stabilized the RV and extricated the victim who was taken a hospital for treatment.
