GREENWOOD, IN – Four LC State Women’s Basketball players earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for the 2025-26 season, announced by CSC on Tuesday. Seniors Sitara Byrd, Payton Hymas and Lindsey Wilson capped their careers with the award while Kendall Wallace was tabbed in her first season eligible.
The award recognizes student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and in the field of play. To be eligible, student-athletes must start in 66% of games or appear in 90%, must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be at least a sophomore in standing. A maximum of four players are selected per program for the competitive award.
“I am so proud of our four players for their commitment to excellence on and off the court,” coach Caelyn Orlandi said. “They have been tremendous examples of what it means to be student-athletes. They bring the same dedication, determination, grit and hard work to the court and the classroom and balance excellence in both categories. A well-deserved award to honor their hard work.”
Byrd earned the second CSC Academic All-District honor of her career and holds a 3.99 grade point average as an elementary education major. She ended her career ranked fourth all-time in rebounds at LC State with 815 and sixth in 3-point percentage at 40.5%. The Spokane native led the Warriors in scoring this season with 14 points per game and aided the defense with 6.9 rebounds per game. She ranked third in the Cascade Conference in steals with 80 and shot 49.4% from the field. She was voted All-Cascade Conference and earned one CCC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Hymas, a kinesiology major, maintains a 3.59 GPA in her final semester. The senior from Middleton, Idaho, led the Warriors and was second in the CCC in assists (136) and steals (87) this season. Hymas was second on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game and led the Warriors at the free throw line with an 81.7% mark on 98 made. She earned All-Cascade Conference honors and was voted the CCC Defensive Player of the Week once.
Wilson will graduate in the spring with a degree in elementary education and maintains a 3.66 grade point average. The senior from Tigard, Ore., put together the best season of her career and led the CCC in field goal percentage at 61.6%, which ranks fifth in a single season at LC State. She ranks second all-time in field goal percentage at 57.1%. Wilson averaged 8.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
Wallace had a breakout season and was one of the top 3-point shooters in the CCC. The sophomore from Clarkston has a 3.77 GPA as an exercise science major and led the Warriors with 73 triples this year. She was fifth in the conference in 3-point percentage at 40.8% and averaged 10.5 points per game. Wallace was fourth on the team in steals with 57 and shot 45.3% from the field.
