CLARKSTON, WA — TriState Health has been recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals for 2026 by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, according to a recent announcement.
The annual Top 100 awards program evaluates rural hospitals across the country using the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, which measures performance in areas such as operations, quality, patient experience, and financial stability.
TriState Health Chief Executive Officer Kym Clift said the recognition reflects the work of staff across the organization.
“This distinction reflects the strong dedication of our providers, nurses, and employees who come to work each day committed to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to our community,” Clift said in the release.
The INDEX, now in its 16th year, uses publicly available data and is widely used by rural hospitals, health systems, and state health offices to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
Michael Topchik, executive director of The Chartis Center for Rural Health, said rural healthcare systems continue to face growing challenges, but top-performing hospitals have demonstrated resilience and innovation.
Hospital officials said the recognition reflects continued focus on quality care, patient safety, and service to the surrounding region.
