Lewiston college honors 10 employees at annual recognition ceremony

LEWISTON, ID — Lewis-Clark State College honored 10 faculty and staff members during its annual Employee Recognition Ceremony held Thursday.

The event recognized employees for their service to students and the college, including award recipients, retirees, and those receiving emeritus status.

Award recipients for the 2025–26 academic year included:

  • President’s Award for Outstanding Teaching: Kirby Boehm
  • H.L. Talkington Faculty Achievement Award: Kylee Britzman
  • LC State Foundation Award: Alex Bezzerides
  • Annice Edmundson Faculty Excellence Award: Kelly FitzSimmons and Bill Frei
  • Fernández Faculty Excellence Endowment: LaChelle Rosenbaum
  • Adjunct Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence: Jamison Edwards
  • Dr. Cameron D. & Marilyn K. Hinman LC State Employee Excellence Award: Jacob Hornby
  • Classified Employee of the Year: Con Schafman
  • Professional Staff Award for Excellence: Laura Bernatz

The ceremony also recognized several retiring employees, including Wayne Bolon and Donna Callahan, each with 36 years of service, along with others representing departments across campus. Mike Owen was additionally recognized with emeritus status.

Employees reaching milestone service years — ranging from five to 35 years — were also acknowledged, along with promotions and tenure achievements.

The event was held at the LC State Center for Arts & History and organized by the college’s Office of the Provost, with sponsorship from the LC State Foundation.
