LEWISTON, ID — Lewis-Clark State College has once again been recognized as a Military Friendly Gold school, marking the third consecutive year the college has received the designation.
The recognition is awarded by Military Friendly, an organization that evaluates colleges and employers based on their support of veterans and military-connected students. LC State first earned the designation in 2020 and has received Gold-level status in 2024, 2025, and now 2026. The Gold distinction places the college among the top 10% of small public institutions outside the organization’s highest-ranked category.
LC State President Cynthia Pemberton said the designation reflects the college’s focus on serving military students and their families.
“LC State is proud to serve students who have served our country,” Pemberton said. “Our small campus, dedicated staff, and student-first approach are a good fit for military members and their families.”
Military Friendly evaluates institutions using public data and survey responses, with rankings based on factors including student support and retention, graduation and career outcomes, financial aid, and campus culture.
At LC State, the Veterans Services office assists students in using GI Bill benefits and other education programs available to active-duty service members, National Guard members, veterans, and their families. The college also offers a Veterans Resource Center, which provides access to computers, study space, and other support services for those using VA education benefits.
The continued recognition highlights the college’s ongoing efforts to support military-affiliated students in the Lewiston area.
