Lewiston 16-Year-Old Arrested After Alleged Rape at House Party

LEWISTON, ID – A 16-year-old Lewiston juvenile faces a felony rape charge following an investigation into an incident reported in March, according to court documents.

The case, filed April 1 in Nez Perce County Magistrate Court, involves two juveniles. The male defendant, whom Dailyfly News is not identifying due to his age, is accused of engaging in conduct with a juvenile female who investigators say was too intoxicated to consent.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Lewiston Police responded to a report at a local hospital after the juvenile female reported she had been assaulted during a house party on or around March 21–22.

Court documents state the juvenile female had been drinking alcohol and became highly intoxicated; witnesses described her as unable to walk or communicate clearly.

Multiple witnesses told investigators the juvenile female appeared extremely intoxicated and sometimes unresponsive. Some reported seeing the male suspect in the room while she appeared to be asleep or incapacitated.

According to investigators, video recordings obtained during the case captured the suspect acknowledging the encounter while claiming it was consensual. Police reports indicate the suspect allegedly told others the victim was “non-verbal” during the incident.

Investigators collected evidence including witness statements, video recordings, clothing, bedding, and a medical exam.

Detectives determined there was probable cause to support the charge, noting the reporting party’s level of intoxication.

Police took the juvenile male into custody and booked him into a juvenile detention facility. He is expected to make his initial court appearance on Wednesday afternoon.
