Lifepoint Health to Acquire St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston

LEWISTON, ID — Lifepoint Health has announced plans to acquire St. Joseph Regional Medical Center as part of a broader agreement with ScionHealth involving eight hospitals across the country.

The agreement, announced March 6, includes St. Joseph Regional Medical Center among facilities located in Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The companies said they will now move forward with the legal and regulatory steps required to complete the transaction, which is expected to take between 60 and 90 days.

Lifepoint Health Chairman and CEO David Dill said the organization is familiar with the hospitals and the communities they serve and intends to continue supporting patient care and local partnerships.

Once the acquisition is finalized, officials say the transition is expected to be seamless for patients and the community. St. Joseph Regional Medical Center will retain its current employees and medical providers, and all existing services will remain in place.

The Lewiston hospital is one of eight acute care facilities included in the agreement between Lifepoint Health and ScionHealth.

Lifepoint Health operates a nationwide network of 60 hospitals, over 70 rehabilitation and behavioral health facilities, and over 300 outpatient care sites, employing nearly 55,000 people.
