COLFAX, WA — A longtime member of the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is retiring after 25 years in law enforcement, according to a department announcement.
Sgt. Dan Brown is concluding a career that included years of patrol work, criminal investigations, and supervisory leadership within the agency.
During his tenure, Brown worked a range of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while responding to calls and supporting operations across the county. The sheriff’s office said he was known for steady leadership and a consistent presence in both fieldwork and investigative roles.
Officials said Brown’s service reflected a commitment to duty and public safety, noting his role in mentoring others and helping maintain daily operations within the department.
Brown is now entering retirement after more than two decades of service.
