BOISE, ID — Idaho State Police responded to a disturbance involving a group of protesters inside the Idaho Capitol Building on Friday afternoon, resulting in multiple arrests.
According to Idaho State Police, the incident began around 1 p.m. when approximately a dozen protesters gathered inside the building and used whistles and bullhorns. The group later entered a restroom and blocked the door with their bodies, preventing others from accessing the area.
Troopers issued repeated warnings and instructed the group to leave the building. Authorities said the individuals refused to comply and remained inside the restroom, continuing to disrupt activity inside the Capitol.
Around 2:40 p.m., six people were arrested on misdemeanor trespass charges. One individual was also charged with resisting arrest, according to police.
During the arrests, one person sustained a minor injury while exiting a bathroom stall and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being booked into custody.
All individuals involved were adults, and no weapons were reported in connection with the incident. The Boise Police Department assisted with transporting those arrested to the Ada County Jail.
In a statement, Idaho State Police said they support the public’s right to protest but emphasized that individuals must follow lawful orders and building rules to maintain safety and order.
