CLARKSTON, WA — Drivers traveling on U.S. Highway 12 west of Clarkston should expect delays beginning Tuesday as paving work gets underway near Alpowa Summit.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, crews will repave a section of roadway between mileposts 419 and 422, roughly 15 miles west of Clarkston. Work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday and is expected to continue through late June.
The project will begin with a single-lane closure in the eastbound direction. Traffic will be guided through the work zone using alternating flaggers and automated flagging devices.
Drivers should plan for delays and allow extra travel time through the area. No restrictions for wide loads are anticipated during the project.
Additional work, including guardrail repairs, is expected to follow paving operations as part of the overall project.
