CLARKSTON, WA — A local grassroots organization is hosting a food drive this week to support multiple food banks serving the Lewis-Clark Valley.
LC Valley Indivisible (LCVI) announced it will hold a food drive on Thursday, April 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at New Connections United Methodist Church in Clarkston.
Donations will benefit the Asotin County Food Bank in Clarkston, as well as Community Action Food Bank and Idaho Food Bank in Lewiston.
Organizers will collect nonperishable food items, personal hygiene products, and monetary donations. Those unable to attend in person can contribute through Venmo at @LCVI-SpringFoodDrive.
LCVI said food pantries often face increased need this time of year as supplies from holiday donation drives are depleted.
The organization is partnering with New Connections United Methodist Church to host the event and is seeking community support to help meet demand across the region.
