MOSCOW, ID — The City of Moscow, in partnership with the Moscow Tree Commission and University of Idaho, will host its annual Arbor Day ceremony on Friday, April 24.
The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Guy Wicks Field Student Pollinator Garden on the University of Idaho campus. Organizers say the ceremony will include the planting of a cascara tree and is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.
The pollinator garden is located west of the Student Recreation Center along Stadium Drive. Parking will be available in Lot 62.
As part of the celebration, attendees will be able to take home free seedlings while supplies last. Available varieties include ocean spray, serviceberry, red oak and catalpa.
Arbor Day is recognized as a global celebration of the importance of trees. Local organizers say the event reflects ongoing efforts to support a healthy and sustainable urban forest through community involvement.
