Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash at Hwy 128 and Old Spiral Hwy Intersection

LEWISTON, ID — A Clarkston man suffered serious injuries Thursday afternoon following a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of Highway 128 and Old Spiral Highway west of Lewiston.

According to the Lewiston Police Department, officers and Lewiston Fire/Medics responded to the crash at approximately 4:29 p.m. on May 28. Investigators said a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse driven by 42-year-old Jamie R. Fisher of Lewiston was traveling southbound on Old Spiral Highway when she failed to yield the right of way to a westbound motorcycle operated by 38-year-old James D. Lloyd Sams of Clarkston.

Sams, who was riding a 1999 custom homemade motorcycle, was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Fisher was taken to the same hospital by police vehicle with minor injuries.

The Lewiston Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Team responded to investigate the crash. The intersection remained closed for approximately three hours while investigators processed the scene.
