KAHLOTUS, WA — The public crossing at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam will be closed from July 13 through July 23, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.
During the closure, all vehicle and pedestrian traffic across the dam will be suspended while crews work to ensure the safety of both the public and district staff. Travelers are being urged to use alternate routes during the 10-day closure.
The Corps said normal public crossing hours at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam are once each hour on the half-hour from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Alternative public crossings remain available at Lower Granite Lock and Dam and Little Goose Lock and Dam.
