PULLMAN, WA. — The Palouse Conservation District will host a virtual presentation later this month focused on using natural systems to reduce wildfire risk in the Palouse region.
The talk, part of the district’s ongoing Conservation Talk Series, is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. and will be held via Zoom. To sign up, visit: https://www.palousecd.org/
According to the district, the presentation will examine how nature-based approaches can be incorporated into fire defense planning as wildland fires increasingly affect areas where natural landscapes and developed communities meet. The discussion is expected to cover strategies applicable to homeowners, small acreage land managers, and commercial agricultural operations.
The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required.
Palouse Conservation District works with landowners and agricultural operators through voluntary programs aimed at conserving natural resources across the district.
