Fire Chief Issues Chimney Cleaning Reminder After Fire in Kamiah

KAMIAH, ID – Kamiah Fire-Rescue responded to a chimney fire Tuesday evening at a residence on Beaverslide Road, according to Fire-Rescue Chief Billy Monahan.

Fire-Rescue Engine 21 and Command 20 were dispatched to 134 Beaverslide Road in Kamiah. Crews cleared the attic, roof and wood stove and were able to return the residence safely to the occupants.

No injuries were reported.

Chief Monahan reminded residents to clean their chimneys annually using a private vendor or the tribal service for tribal residences.
