CLARKSTON, WA — Clarkston firefighters are continuing their tradition of giving back through the Helping Helmets program, delivering thousands of dollars in donations to local youth-focused organizations.

Members of Clarkston Professional Firefighters Local 2299 recently presented a $1,875 check to Clarkston EPIC, supporting programs that serve children and families in the community. The donation was made possible through funds raised during the union’s annual Helping Helmets fundraiser.

Firefighters also recognized TriState Health for its $1,000 contribution, which helped make the donation to Clarkston EPIC possible.

Earlier this week, Local 2299 also presented a separate $1,875 donation to Northwest Children’s Home, another nonprofit supported through Helping Helmets. Funds for that donation were raised in September, with assistance from community members and local partners, including Clarkston EPIC.

According to firefighters, the Helping Helmets program is designed to support youth-focused nonprofits that make a meaningful impact locally. Union leaders said the continued success of the program reflects strong community support and generosity from residents and businesses alike.

Local 2299 thanked everyone who donated, noting the program would not be possible without community involvement. Firefighters also said they look forward to continuing the tradition when Helping Helmets returns in 2026.
