Moscow Rural Fire District Celebrates Volunteers & Successful 2025

MOSCOW, ID – The Moscow Rural Fire District is recognizing its volunteers for another successful year in 2025.

Several Moscow Rural Fire Department volunteers were recently recognized for their service.  John Maurin and Darin Ery were honored for 30 years as volunteers.  Keith Crossler was recognized for 25 years and Greg Thomas was honored for 20 years with the department.  Scott Fleischman and Tyler McGee were both awarded for their five years of service.  Kyle Allison was awarded the Moscow Rural Fire District’s Firefighter of the Year for 2025.

The Moscow Rural Fire Department responded to 143 calls last year.  The district’s 28 volunteers compiled 1,800 hours of training and community outreach.

The volunteer department is also hosting a firefighter training class this year and recently conducted a controlled burn.  Moscow Rural Volunteer’s training burned a structure that was set for demolition.
