MOSCOW, ID – The women of LC State Track and Field wrapped up the first meet of 2026 on a high note with a pair of national qualifying standards and a school record. Emily Collins earned her spot at nationals and broke her own record in the 600m, while fellow Lewiston local Madison Kelly ran a national standard time in the 60m hurdles at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open.

“Pretty good day with a number of school records and three more national qualifiers,” coach Mike Collins said. “Can’t complain about that. Good to have Madigan hit a national qualifying mark in the hurdles, and then near the end of the day Emily closing it out with a national qualifying mark and school record in the 600m.Nice rebound as well seeing the women run well in the mile today. Good resilience shows that our endurance training is working well, just need to work on some speed. Already looking forward to next week and getting back onto The Podium, and I know the team is too.”

Collins broke her own record in the 600m to place third at the meet. Her time of 1:34.80 is a B standard and ranks eighth in the NAIA this season.

Kelly was second in the prelims of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.83, then shaved a 10^th of a second off to win the final with an NAIA B standard time of 8.73. The time ranks sixth in the NAIA this season. Olivia Yetter placed 21^st in the prelim with a time of 10.81.

Kelly went on to finish 11^th in the 60m (7.93), Claire Dooley was 17^th (8.19) and Yetter was 27^th (9.06).

Asotin native Haylee Appleford threw a personal-best in the shot put and bettered her hold on the third-best mark in program history. She placed eighth in the field at 12.05m, and Orofino product Ruby Kessinger threw is distance of 11.21m to finish 11^th. Hope Zollman was 16^th (10.66m) and Shayvon Williams was 26^th (8.64m).

Camille Ussher led the Warrior women in the mile with a fifth-place finish (5:13.86). Grace Tiegs was 10^th (5:20.09), Damaris Kibiwot placed 18^th (5:28.26) and Leila Flanders was 29^th (5:42.58).

Freshman Kailee Lerew made her collegiate debut in the 400m and finished ninth with a time of 1:01.96, Nuala Rollins was 16^th in the 800m (2:28.59) and Eva Lundgren finished 17^th (2:28.80).

The team of Dooley, Lerew, Kelly and Collins placed third in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:05.93. Kibiwot, Flannery, Tiegs and Ussher ran a time of 4:15.51 to finish fifth.
