CORVALLIS, OR – Darian Herring became the second LC State Women’s Basketball player to earn four Cascade Conference McDonald’s Player of the Week honors, presented by Urban Edge Network, in one season with her fourth Defensive Player of the Week nod on Monday.
Herring helped No. 13 LC State hold both top-tier opponents under 60 points over the weekend. She was key to a defensive attack that held (RV) College of Idaho and No. 17 Eastern Oregon to a combined 35% shooting from the floor and 22.6% from 3-point range. The junior averaged 11.5 points and seven rebounds per game with three steals and two blocks. Herring’s defense led directly to 11 points, and she helped guide the offense with eight assists.
This is Herring’s fourth weekly honor of the season and sixth of her career.
Callie Stevens earned Player of the Week honors four times in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
