Former U.S. ambassador to Kosovo to speak at University of Idaho forum

MOSCOW, ID — Former U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Jeff Hovenier will speak about U.S.–Europe relations during a public lecture at the University of Idaho next week.

Hovenier will deliver the annual Martin Forum address at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in the Bruce M. Pitman Center International Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

The lecture is part of a weeklong campus visit that includes classroom discussions and a short course on U.S.–Europe relations.

Hovenier served as U.S. ambassador to Kosovo from 2022 to 2024 and has more than 34 years of experience in the U.S. Foreign Service. His career includes diplomatic postings in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, as well as service on the National Security Council and in the State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. He is currently a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center.

Established in 1999, the Martin Forum is a nonpartisan lecture series focused on international issues and global affairs.
