MOSCOW, ID – The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found Thursday near U.S. Highway 95 and Thorn Creek Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were advised at about noon on Jan. 29 of a deceased male in the area. The man was identified as Joseph T. Bonnell-Hall, who had been reported missing earlier that day.
According to reports, Bonnell-Hall had last been seen on Saturday. His family said he typically spent his weekends in Plummer and traveled to the University of Idaho during the weekdays.
The case is being investigated by the Latah County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Idaho State Police. The cause of death remains under investigation.
Authorities said the community may have questions about Bonnell-Hall’s death, but due to the active investigation, no additional details can be released at this time.
At about 1:45 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff’s office reported an active investigation at Highway 95 and Thorn Creek Road and asked the public not to stop or interfere with investigators. At approximately 2:10 p.m., deputies announced that Thorn Creek Road was closed to all traffic and advised motorists to seek alternate routes.
The sheriff’s office said more information will be released when it becomes available.
