COLFAX, WA – Whitman County District Court Judge John Hart is running for re-election. Judge Hart is currently serving a second term in office after first being elected in 2018.

In his Wednesday campaign announcement, Judge Hart notes that he has overseen the implementation of several new programs, including a community court. That therapeutic court addresses low-level offenders facing charges as a consequence of mental health and substance abuse issues.

Judge Hart also points out that he serves in multiple capacities on statewide judiciary committees. Whitman County District Court is the lower criminal court that handles misdemeanors.

Candidate filing for seats up for a vote this year in Washington runs in May.
