STEPTOE, WA – The iconic Steptoe Butte, north of Colfax, will reopen on Sunday after being closed for a year primarily for a repaving project.

After several delays, Steptoe Butte State Park will reopen on Sunday. It was closed last year following the flood in late February. The park stayed closed as crews began to repave the road to the summit last spring.

There were several delays in getting the park back open, but officials in Olympia confirm that the butte will reopen this weekend.
