SPOKANE, WA – The sprints section of the record book continued to shift on Saturday as the LC State Men’s Track and Field team got faster at the Whitworth Indoor Invitational. Jedidiah Barnaby repeated a national standard in the 60m dash as the top five shifted for the Warriors in multiple running events.

“Overall, pretty good weekend with lots of season bests,” coach Mike Collins said. “Last time I counted, I think we had at least 24 PRs, and from a coaching standpoint, I don’t know how you can really complain about that. The timing couldn’t be better either as we approach the last meet of the season in order to try to qualify for indoor nationals. A super day for our sprinters as well. A lot of PRs for those young people, so really excited for them.”

Barnaby just missed another A standard in the 60m dash, but won the event with a time of 6.74 in the final. His time of 6.70 earlier this season ranks third in the NAIA. Preston Cooper ran a time of 6.96 to finish seventh in the final. Noah Carpenter moved up to third in the record book with a time of 7.00 to place 10^th, and Camden Koerner also ran a personal-best of 7.08 for 18th. Jordan Castillo finished in 7.11 to place 21^st, Michael Colvin ran a career-best (7.19) for 32^nd, as did Harry Lazenby (36^th, 7.25) and Isahi Salinas (44^th, 7.32). Luke Siler was 49^th (7.34).

Freshman Aidan Grenier climbed the record book with each of his 60m hurdles races on Saturday. He clocked a time of 8.52 in the prelim which would be third-best, but got even faster in the final with a time of 8.38 to sit second on the list. He placed third in the event.

Avery Seal and Lazenby both dented the record book in the 400m. Seal finished fourth in the event with the second-best time in LC State history (49.81) and Lazenby placed ninth with the fourth-best Warrior time (50.18).

The rankings shifted in the 200m as well. Cooper ran a time of 22.00 to finish seventh while Collin Wimer (10^th, 22.08) and Castillo (11^th, 22.12) ran the fourth and fifth best times ever by a Warrior, respectively. Carpenter finished 15^th with a PR of 22.37, James Bogdanowicz was 45^th (23.58), Colvin placed 50^th (23.88) and Brandon Decker was 68^th (25.73).

Trenton Johnson finished second overall in the triple jump with a leap of 14.04m. Wimer placed fourth (12.58m).

Tristin O’Brien ran a career-best 800m at 2:02.89 to finish 17^th in the field.

Kobe Wessels was the top LC State finisher in the mile in ninth place (4:20.68). Sven Druijff placed 12^th with a personal best (4:24.79), Connor Alexander was 16^th (4:28.46), Alexander Fry finished 27^th (4:38.55) and Ben Vernon was 31^st (4:44.67).

Wessels also led the Warriors in the 3,000m with a ninth-place finish in the invite section of the event. He ran a time of 8:38.18 and Alexander was 25^th (9:22.43). Vernon finished fifth in the collegiate section (9:13.03) and Dawson Welliver ran a personal-best time of 9:56.41 to finish 27^th.

Decker cleared a career-best height of 4.20m in the pole vault to finish 11^th overall. Salinas led the Warriors in the high jump in fifth place (1.80m) and Cameron Carrara was seventh (1.75m).

In throws, Reid Thomas led LC State with an eighth-place finish in the shot put (14.33m). Zane Hearne was 19^th (12.66m) and Alexzander Lambson threw a personal-best of 11.78m to place 28^th.

The 4x400m relay team of Seal, Johnson, Grenier and Wimer placed 10^th with a time of 3:28.07.
