COLFAX, WA – A 20-year-old man formerly of Palouse already facing a local child rape count has now been charged with child molestation in a separate case.
Jaxon Raup pleaded not guilty to 1st degree felony child molestation in Whitman County Superior Court Friday. Raup pleaded not guilty last year to 1st degree felony child rape in his initial case.
The latest case alleges that Raup molested a child under the age of 12 in 2023. The first case alleges that Raup raped a young boy in the summer of 2023. The cases involve different victims. Prosecutors informed Judge Roger Sandberg on Friday that Raup has been investigated for allegations involving a third young victim. Charges in that case haven’t been filed because of issues involving that victim’s competency.
Raup has moved to Willow Alaska near Anchorage. Judge Sandberg ordered that he have no contact of any kind with anyone under the age of 18. He is set to stand trial on the latest case this spring.
