LEWISTON, ID – A new rainfall record was set on Wednesday in the Lewis-Clark Valley.
According to the National Weather Service Spokane, 0.86 inches of rain was recorded Wednesday at the Lewiston–Nez Perce County Airport, establishing a new daily maximum rainfall record for March 4.
The total surpasses the previous record of 0.74 inches, which was set in 2017.
Meteorologists issued the record event report early Thursday morning, noting the rainfall total measured at the airport’s official weather observation site.
Wednesday’s rainfall was part of a weather system that brought widespread precipitation to the region.
