LCSC Men’s Golf Flexes its Depth in Dominant Day at The Warrior Spring Classic

CLARKSTON, WA – The men of LC State Golf dominated the course from start to finish to open up The Warrior Spring Classic at Red Wolf Golf Club on Monday. With five Warriors playing their third straight day of golf, the entire roster flexed its depth with seven players in the top 10. The LC State A team sits in first place with the B team in second. Kye Krall leads the way after the best outing of his career.

The LC State A team of Luke West, Adam Lovatt, Andrea Artusini, Sondre Andresen and Lucas Ortega are 15-under after the first two rounds and hold an 11-stroke lead over the Warrior B team heading into the final round.

“Exciting day for both teams,” coach Zach Anderson said. “Lots of under-par rounds for the men. It was really cool to see the joy they played with. Several personal best college scores were shot today. Excited to see what tomorrow brings.”

West leads the A squad in second place, two strokes behind Krall, at 7-under. His rounds of 67-70 included 11 birdies. Freshman Lovatt is one stroke behind in third place at 6-under after 36 holes with rounds of 72-66. His second round total ties Krall for the lowest of the tournament so far, and included two eagles and four birdies.

Artusini sits in seventh place with a two-round total of 2-under-par with rounds of 72-70. Three birdies kept his second round under-par, and senior Sondre Andresen was consistent with a pair of even-par rounds to sit in a tie for ninth.

Krall, competing on the B team, leads the entire tournament by two strokes. The senior carded the two best rounds of his collegiate career at 69-66 to sit 9-under-par. After four birdies in his first 18 holes, Krall added seven in the second round.

Junior Aaron Brown had a standout day and sits in a tie for fifth place after shooting 73-68. He tallied four birdies and an eagle in the second round for a 3-under total. Senior Jaxon Moon is in eighth place with 18 holes to play with rounds of 70-73 for a 1-under total.
