Spring enrollment climbs at LC State, driven by dual credit growth

LEWISTON, ID — Lewis-Clark State College reported an 8.2% increase in spring enrollment, bringing total headcount to 3,355 students, according to official census data.

The college has now recorded three straight years of spring growth and remains above pre-pandemic levels. Full-time equivalency also rose 3.1% to 2,227.5.

Administrators say the increase is largely driven by dual credit enrollment, which jumped 53% from 605 to 926 students.

“We’re excited to serve students wherever they are,” LC State President Cynthia Pemberton said, pointing to the role of early college access in supporting workforce needs.

Humanities saw the largest academic gain at 17%, while Nursing & Health Sciences and Technical & Industrial programs each grew 3%. Career & Technical Education increased 5%, and graduate enrollment rose slightly to 22 students.

The spring increase follows a record fall semester, when enrollment surpassed 4,000 students for the first time in the college’s history.
