NAMPA, ID – Officials with the City of Nampa have confirmed that Mayor Rick Hogaboam has died after experiencing a medical emergency Wednesday evening. He was 47.
According to city officials, Hogaboam suffered the medical emergency during a Regional Town Hall event in Eagle on March 18.
A statement from the Treasure Valley Partnership said the emergency occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. while Hogaboam was speaking at Eagle City Hall. Eagle Mayor Brad Pike, who was seated next to him, immediately began administering CPR.
Staff called 911 and the meeting was adjourned as the room was cleared.
Emergency responders, including the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Fire District and Ada County EMS, arrived and took over care.
In a statement, the City of Nampa said, “It is with the deepest sadness that we must report Mayor Rick Hogaboam experienced a medical emergency tonight and has passed away.”
Officials asked the community to keep Hogaboam’s family and loved ones in their thoughts and requested patience as the city navigates the loss.
No additional details about the medical emergency have been released.
