SPOKANE COUNTY, WA — Detectives with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help after a custom metal T. rex statue was stolen earlier this month from a roundabout display in the area of North Dupont Road and North Mellon Parkway.
According to investigators, deputies responded around 12:05 p.m. on March 8 to a report that the decorative dinosaur statue had been taken from the landscaped center of the roundabout. The theft is believed to have occurred earlier that day between approximately 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.
The statue, described as a custom-made metal artwork, has an estimated replacement and repair cost of about $70,000. Detectives say the case is being investigated as theft and malicious mischief.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the statue’s whereabouts or the identity of those involved to contact Detective N. Kauffman at 509-477-3224 and reference case number 10030824.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been announced.
