WASHINGTON, D.C. – A nationwide recall has been issued for nearly 90,000 bottles of Children’s Ibuprofen Oral Suspension after reports of contamination.

According to an FDA enforcement report, the recall involves 4-ounce bottles of the medication manufactured for Taro Pharmaceuticals. The affected product may contain a gel-like substance and black particles, prompting safety concerns.

The recall impacts 89,592 bottles distributed across the United States and includes specific lot numbers with an expiration date of January 31, 2027. The issue was classified as a Class II recall, meaning the product could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects.

This recall applies to a generic product, not brand-name ibuprofen such as Advil or Motrin.

The recall was voluntarily initiated by Strides Pharma Inc. and remains ongoing.

Consumers are urged to check their medication and avoid using any affected products.
