Lustig Tabbed All-West Region by NABC

KANSAS CITY, MO – John Lustig became the first LC State Men’s Basketball player to earn NABC All-West Region honors, announced by the coaching association on Thursday. This is the first season the NABC is honoring all-region teams for the NAIA.

“More deserved recognition for John and his hard work,” coach Austin Johnson said. “There are a lot of great players in the country so to be named to the inaugural all-region team is impressive. John has had an outstanding season helping us win a conference championship and further cementing his legacy of impact here at LC.”

Lustig became LC State’s all-time leading scorer in the final game of the season and stands alone at the top of the record book with 1463 career points.

The Colfax native, named to the CSC Academic All-District team earlier this week, led the Cascade Conference in field goal percentage this season at 58.5% and was fifth in rebounding with 7.3 per game. Lustig led the Warriors in scoring with 15.8 per game and added 70 assists, 18 blocks and 14 steals to his final season.

Along with his record for most points all-time, Lustig leaves LC State ranked third in field goals made (561), fifth in rebounds (614) and sixth in free throws made (272). He was voted All-Cascade Conference and was named the CCC Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week once each this season.

Lustig is one of three NABC All-West Region honorees from the CCC and joins Oregon Tech’s Jackson Cooper and Eastern Oregon’s Eamon Monahan.
