LEWISTON, ID – Landon Webb went the distance in his game one start and the Warrior offense continued to rake as No. 7 LC State clinched the series win over the College of Idaho. The Warriors swept Saturday’s doubleheader by scores of 10-0 (8 innings) and 9-3 and now have double-digit hits in 22 games this season.
The victories have the LC State record at 25-3 on the season and 17-3 in CCC play.
GAME ONE: No. 7 LC State def. C of I 10-0 (8 innings)
Brandon Nguyen put the first pitch he saw through the right side for a base hit and Jackson Jaha followed with a base hit of his own to put two on. Bryce Johnson lined a ball off the C of I pitcher that trickled into the outfield for a double, and an error on the play allowed both runs to score for an early 2-0 lead.
Landon Webb worked a 1-2-3 top of the second and worked the Warriors out of a jam in the third, then LC State added a run in the home half of the inning.
Jaha drew a walk to lead off the frame and a hit by Johnson had runners on the corners. Jackson Reed sent a sacrifice fly to left to push the margin to 3-0.
The Warriors put together a big inning in the bottom of the fifth. Nguyen doubled, Jaha walked and Izzy Madariaga tripled to bring in the pair. Johnson walked and Reed singled for another run. Noah Weintraub kept the inning going with his first base hit of the season and a sacrifice fly by Bulla Ephan had the lead at 8-0.
Webb struck out two in a quick top of the sixth and fanned two in the eighth.
Walks to Ephan and pinch hitter Jordan Justice put two on and Jaha drove one in with a single through the left side. C of I walked Madariaga before hitting pinch hitter Bo Stinson to end the game via the run rule.

Webb tossed the first complete-game shutout for LC State this season and struck out seven in his eight innings. He allowed only two hits with two walks.
Johnson led the offense with a 3-for-3 day at the plate while Nguyen and Jaha each had two hits. Madariaga and Reed each knocked in two runs.
GAME TWO: No. 7 LC State def. C of I 9-3
A pair of hits gave the Yotes an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first before Mason Goodson settled in for a quick top of the second.
LC State manufactured runs in the home half of the second to take the lead. Weintraub, Sam Weber and Cade Westerlund notched three straight singles for a run and a sacrifice bunt by Payton Smith kept the inning going. Nguyen walked and Jaha drove a ball through the left side to plate another, and Madariaga added a runner to the base paths with a single. Johnson made it a 4-1 lead with a sacrifice fly.
Weintraub singled and took second on a wild pitch in the bottom of the third. Walks to Westerlund and Nguyen loaded the bases and a passed ball brought Weintraub across to push the advantage to 5-1.
The Warrior offense continued to add to its lead in the fourth inning. Madariaga singled and Johnson walked and both came in on a double by Weintraub, but C of I matched it with two runs in the top of the fifth.
Levi Anderson held the Yotes off the board in the sixth, seventh and eighth and an RBI hit by Kooper Jones grew the lead to 8-3 in the bottom of the eighth. Stinson took over on the bases for Jones and scored on an error to make it 9-3.
Jackson Cloud took over on the mound in the ninth and struck out a pair to end the game.

Weintraub led the Warriors with a 3-for-5 game and drove in two runs along with Jaha.
Goodson earned his fourth win on the mound with five innings of work. Anderson struck out three in his three innings of relief and Cloud fanned two in his frame.
