Asotin, WA- Released by Monte Renzelman, Chief of Police on Tuesday May 9th
The Asotin Police Department has received a grant from the Washington State Sheriff’s and Police Chief’s Association for the purchase of bike helmets. The grant, in the amount of $250, was able to purchase 24 youth sized helmets for the Asotin Police Department to disseminate. The Asotin Police Department went into partnership with the Asotin Anatone School District in distributing helmets during the elementary school bike rodeo that takes place this week, May 9-12th. The Bike helmets were passed out to kids that did not have a helmet for the Asotin School bike rodeo. The school will also teach bike helmet and bike safety with the handing out of the helmets.
