From the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office: On 8/15/23, at 0649 hours
the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a logging truck accident on Grangemont Rd and Agape Ln. It was reported a logging truck rolled over hitting a power pole and starting a fire. Sheriff’s deputies and the Orofino Fire Department responded to the accident. The fire was put out before first responders arrived on scene, and firefighters had to extricate the driver who was trapped inside the logging truck. The driver, 56 year old Emmitt Waite from Orofino was transported with non life threating injuries by Orofino ambulance to the Clearwater Valley Hospital. Speed was a factor and is still under investigation.
