A recent phone scam has been going around. Here is an update from the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office:
 
We have recently been made aware of a new phone scam contacting residents in the area. The automated call comes from a Lt Messing claiming to be from the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division. This call is not affiliated with our office, nor do we have an employee by that name. The phone number most associated with the call is 208 556 7015. Please do not follow any directions of the call request. If you have any questions or concerns of the legitimacy of any calls claiming to come from this office, please call us directly.
