LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Men’s Golf added to its 2024-25 roster for the second time this week with the signing of Lucas Ortega. The freshman out of Calgary, Alberta, will join the Warriors in the fall.

“Lucas Ortega rounds out the recruiting class of 2024 for LC State Golf,” Head Coach Zach Anderson said. “He possesses plenty of assets including high-level tournament experience, golf maturity, and, most importantly, leadership capabilities. Lucas will be a huge part of our team immediately when he sets foot on campus in fall of 2024. We are excited to have him joining our program.”

Ortega prepped at E.P. Scarlett High School in Calgary and recently qualified for the 2024 Alberta Amateur Championship. He made the cut and qualified for the 2024 Alberta Open as an amateur. Ortega placed in the top 10 at the 2023 Calgary City Amateur.
