Craigmont, ID) – Recent lightning has sparked numerous fires in the area. Two of the larger fires are on the Salmon River breaks in the vicinity of the Eagle Creek drainage. The First Creek Fire is about 80 acres and the Fourth Creek Fire is about 100 acres. The Fisher Fire (25 acres) and Blakeman Fire (0.1 acres) are in the Big Creek drainage between Orofino and Craigmont. These four fires are staffed with personnel fighting the fires from the ground and the air. Additionally, crews are attempting to locate any additional fires from the recent lightning and another round of lighting is hitting the area at the time this report is being written, potentially resulting in additional fires. More information will be released when it becomes available, likely in the morning.
