ASOTIN, WA – The Asotin-Anatone School District will hold its 2025 Child Find event on March 21, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Asotin Elementary office. This event offers developmental screenings for children ages 3 to 5 to identify potential needs for special education services.

Child Find is a federally mandated program requiring school districts to identify, locate, and evaluate children with disabilities. The screenings will assess cognitive, speech and language, adaptive, motor, and social-emotional or behavioral skills. Screenings are by appointment only and can be scheduled by contacting the district’s Student Services office at (509) 243-4146.

For children younger than 3 years old, families can contact Lori Hyde at Asotin County Community Services at (509) 758-9103 or lhyde@co.asotin.wa.us. Concerns about children ages 6 to 21 currently enrolled in the district can also be directed to the Student Services office.
