Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Social Media Threats Related to Injured Dog Claims

LEWISTON, ID – The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office has responded to social media allegations regarding a dog reportedly injured and abandoned in the Waha area. According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, no formal reports have been made to either their agency or the Nez Perce Tribal Police regarding the alleged incident.

Authorities noted that online accusations have named a Culdesac resident, Dakota Umpenhour, as being involved. The sheriff’s office stated there is currently no evidence linking Umpenhour to the situation.

Additionally, law enforcement is investigating calls, text messages, and social media threats directed at Umpenhour. The sheriff’s office has warned that those who violate Idaho laws in making threats will be prosecuted.
