One Injured After Pickup Collides With Train in Southern Idaho

DIETRICH, ID – Idaho State Police are investigating a collision involving a pickup truck and a freight train in southern Idaho on Tuesday.

According to police, at approximately 6:38 p.m., a 74-year-old-male from Dietrich was traveling northbound on 1000 E, outside of Dietrich, in a white 2012 GMC Sierra when the pickup and train collided.  The vehicle was struck on the rear passenger side, causing it to roll.

The driver of the GMC was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
