SAN ANTONIO, TX – No. 22 LC State Men’s Tennis dropped its NAIA Unaffiliated Group Tournament matchup with Texas A&M-Texarkana on Thursday by a final of 4-2. The Warriors now wait to see if they are awarded an at-large bid into the national tournament.
TAMUT took the doubles point with two wins to start the match. The senior duo of Alvaro Camino and Austin Swing won the No. 2 doubles contest 7-5, but the Eagles led 1-0 heading into singles play.
LC State picked up a pair of victories in singles play, with a third in progress, but TAMUT clinched the match with three singles wins.
Freshmen Giacomo Moreira and Cesar Coloma were the lone Warriors to earn wins. Moreira took the No. 2 singles contest 6-4, 6-2. Coloma won at No. 6 by scores of 7-5, 6-2.
Sophomore Nell Rollin was ahead in his No. 3 matchup after a 6-4 win in the first set. The match ended with Rollin in front 5-2 in his second frame.
