Flags to Be Lowered in Honor of Fallen Firefighters on May 4

BOISE, ID — In observance of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, Governor Brad Little has directed that U.S. flags be flown at half-staff across Idaho on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

The directive follows Public Law 107-51, which designates the first Sunday in May as a day to honor firefighters who have died in the line of duty. Flags should be lowered from sunrise to sunset on that day.

The memorial service recognizes the bravery and sacrifice of firefighters nationwide and offers a moment for communities to reflect on their service.
