City of Pullman Says Administrator Mike Urban has Resigned Following Exoneration

PULLMAN, WA — The City of Pullman announced the resignation of City Administrator Mike Urban, effective May 5, 2025.

According to the announcement, Urban was previously and erroneously implicated in a Washington State Patrol investigation related to the former Pullman Chief of Police. The City clarified that those allegations were proven false, and Urban was fully exonerated.

Urban, who has served as City Administrator since 2021, was recognized for his dedication to professional development and leadership. City officials noted that he pursued additional training and education during his tenure, earning the confidence of city staff and elected leaders.

Mayor Francis Benjamin stated, “Mike is principled, ethical, caring, and dependable. He consistently managed the competing interests of the organization, staff, and community with dignity, grace, and the utmost regard. Through Mike’s accomplishments and hard work, he leaves the City better than he found it.”

It’s a statement released on Tuesday, the City says it plans to begin its search for a new City Administrator immediately and will appoint an interim administrator in the near future.
