Washington Rep. Jamila Taylor Recovering After Stroke, Placed in ICU

OLYMPIA, WA – State Representative Jamila Taylor, a Democrat representing Federal Way, is recovering in the intensive care unit after suffering a stroke on the afternoon of May 6, according to a statement released by her legislative office.

Taylor is currently in stable condition and receiving medical care. Her team reports that she is grateful for the support and well-wishes from friends, constituents, and colleagues but emphasized the need for privacy during her recovery.

In accordance with her medical team’s guidance, visitors and flower deliveries are not being accepted at this time to ensure a calm and restful environment.

Taylor will not be participating in legislative activities until she is medically cleared to resume her duties. Her office did not provide a timeline for her return but expressed appreciation for the ongoing encouragement during her recovery.
