Minnesota Timberwolves defeat Golden State Warriors 117-93 to even series

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Golden State Warriors 117-93 at Target Center in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals on Thursday, to even their series 1-1.

Julius Randle led with 24 points and recorded a postseason career-high 10 assists, with Anthony Edwards and Nickeil Alexander-Walker each scoring 20 points.nFor the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga led with 18 points. Jimmy Butler had 17 points and Buddy Hield and Jackson-Davis each scored 15.

The Warriors played without star guard Stephen Curry, who was ruled out of Game 2 with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Meanwhile the Timberwolves’ Edwards had a scare after injuring his left ankle; he was helped to the locker room in the second quarter after driving to the basket and having his shot blocked by Trayce Jackson-Davis. Edwards fell and grabbed his left ankle, but was able to return at the start of the second half.

Game 3 is scheduled to take place on Saturday in San Francisco.
