NORMAN, OK – LC State Men’s Golf senior Alex Navarro added the distinction of NAIA PING All-West Region to his final season, announced by the GCAA on Tuesday. The native of Spain had a standout spring with two individual victories and All-Cascade Conference honors.
“Alex had one of the best spring seasons in LC State Men’s Golf history with a 69.7 scoring average,” coach Zach Anderson explained. “After a disappointing fall, we worked on many things to improve his performance, and I could not be prouder of the way he took that coaching and ran with it. His work ethic is second to none and he deserves this accolade.”
Navarro finished fourth in the CCC in scoring average at conference events (72.4) en route to his 69.7 average in the spring. He shot six rounds under par during the season and won both The Warrior Spring Classic and the SOU Spring Invite. He finished as the runner-up at the Cascade Conference Championships. Navarro was named the CCC Golfer of the Week twice.
